By creating an account and using Tear Mate, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be at least 18 years old to use Tear Mate.
Tear Mate is a peer-to-peer platform that connects people seeking emotional support ("Seekers") with compassionate individuals willing to provide that support ("Helpers"). Tear Mate is NOT a mental health service, therapy service, or crisis intervention service. Helpers are not licensed therapists or medical professionals. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information during registration. You may not create accounts for other people or use someone else's phone number. Tear Mate reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
As a Helper, you agree to: provide compassionate, non-judgmental support; meet Seekers only in safe, public locations; never provide medical, legal, or professional advice; report any safety concerns immediately. You acknowledge that you are operating as an independent individual, not as an employee or contractor of Tear Mate.
As a Seeker, you agree to: treat Helpers with respect; meet only in safe, public locations; not make inappropriate requests; understand that Helpers are not professionals. You acknowledge that Tear Mate does not vet, screen, or certify Helpers beyond phone number verification.
Sessions are priced at $5 USD, processed through Apple In-App Purchases. Payment is charged at the time of booking confirmation. The Helper receives payment regardless of session cancellation. All transactions are final — see our Refund Policy for details. Apple's payment terms apply to all purchases.
You may not use Tear Mate for: any illegal activity; harassment, abuse, or threats; solicitation of sexual services; fraud or impersonation; sharing another user's personal information; any commercial purpose other than providing sessions as a Helper.
Always meet in public places. Tell someone you trust where you are going. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave. Report concerning behaviour immediately via the in-app report feature. Tear Mate is not responsible for in-person interactions between users.
Tear Mate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tear Mate and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or interactions with other users.
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. Contact us at support@tearmate.online with any questions.
