We collect your phone number for account verification and authentication. We collect your device location (GPS coordinates) while the app is in use to show you helpers nearby or to show seekers your location as a helper. We collect your name, profile photo, and bio that you voluntarily provide. We collect usage data such as session history, ratings, and reviews.
Your phone number is used solely for identity verification via one-time SMS codes. Your location is used in real-time to match you with nearby helpers or seekers and is never stored permanently after your session ends. Your profile information is displayed to other users of the platform. Session history and ratings are used to build trust and safety within the community.
We do not sell your personal data. We share your profile name, photo, and approximate location with other users only as necessary to facilitate a session. We use Google Firebase (operated by Google LLC) for authentication, data storage, and push notifications. Google's privacy policy applies to their services. We use Google Maps to display location data within the app.
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Location data is not stored after a session ends. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by financial regulations.
Tear Mate is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase security rules to restrict data access, and phone number verification to prevent unauthorised account creation.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@tearmate.online.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
